Why the name MortgageDadOf3?

The name is literal. I’m a husband and a dad of three, and that perspective affects how I talk about mortgages. A home payment isn't just a qualifying ratio. It becomes part of a family's monthly life, goals and options.

I grew up in real estate.

My grandparents spent more than 40 years as Realtors. I worked for them as an assistant while I was still in high school, so real estate was part of my life long before mortgages became my career.

More than 21 years on the mortgage side.

Over the last two decades, I have worked across the mortgage business and built my approach around knowing the guidelines—not just the easy scenarios, but the exceptions, lesser-known programs and solutions that matter when a file gets complicated.

Why I started creating content.

Homebuyers and homeowners are surrounded by mortgage advice online. Some of it is good. Some of it leaves out the most important part of the rule. And some of it is simply misinformation repeated often enough that it starts sounding true.

I created MortgageDadOf3 to give people somewhere else to turn: plain-English explanations, actual numbers, program details, myth checks, and links back to primary guidelines whenever they matter.

What Mortgage Navigator is for.

Mortgage Navigator is the educational library inside MortgageDadOf3. It is being built around the questions consumers actually ask—not around industry jargon. If you want to understand credit, affordability, down-payment assistance, loan programs, underwriting or a strange guideline, this is where I want you to be able to find the answer.

You shouldn't have to become a mortgage expert to buy a home. You should just have access to one.
